My Towel Isn't Performing Well — Is It Defective?

Not necessarily. Before assuming a defect, check these common causes of poor performance:

Towel is brand new? Wash before first use to remove residual lint and dye from manufacturing. This is normal and expected.

Not absorbing well? This is almost always caused by product buildup — usually from fabric softener, dryer sheets, or household detergents that leave residue. Wash the towel with Micro-Restore detergent to strip the buildup.

Leaving lint or streaks on glass? Try switching to a waffle weave or low-pile towel for glass. High-pile plush towels can leave lint on glass surfaces. Also make sure you're rotating to a clean, dry towel section frequently.

Scratching paint? Check that the towel is clean and free of debris. Even the highest-quality microfiber can scratch if it picks up dirt or grit. Drop it on the ground? Switch to a fresh towel.
